Student Placements
Introduction
Welcome to the Greater Southern Area Health Service Student Placements site. This site contains essential information for students preparing to undertake a clinical / fieldwork placement in a NSW Health (GSAHS) facility. The information provided will help you understand your responsiblities and help to ensure we can provide you with an enjoyable learning experience.
All Students
In preparation for your clinical placement / fieldwork education in a GSAHS facility all students are required to:
- read through the Student Orientation Handbook and thoroughly familiarise themselves with the contents prior to commencing their placement
- comply with the Student Clinical Placement Checklist and ensure they bring the following essential documents to their placement orientation:
- 'Clearance for Clinical Placement' (CRC) Card (consult the NSW Health website - www.health.nsw.gov.au - enter a search for 'student clearances for clinical placement' to ensure you understand and comply with NSW requirements).
- Completed 'Adult Vaccination Record Card' / documented evidence of your protection against the specified infectious diseases as outlined in the NSW Health Policy PD 2007_006 (you can access a copy below and use the assessment tool to ensure your documentation has the required information).
- Student University / College ID badge
