VMO Quinquennial Appointments
OVERVIEW:
NSW Health Area Health Services are required to advertise all visiting medical officer appointments every 5 years. The current quinquennium is due for completion by 30 September 2009.
Applications will be invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for appointment as Visiting Medical Officers to Greater Southern Area Health Service facilities for a period of up to 5 years commencing from 1 October 2009. Positions may involve cross accreditation between facilities, as authorised by the GSAHS Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
The appointment process will be conducted in accordance with NSW Health Department Policy Directives: 2005_496 – Visiting Practitioner Appointments and 2008_060 – Staff Specialists/Visiting Practitioner Appts (inc Clinical Academics) – Critical Actions Compliance Declaration.

INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS:
To apply for appointment to GSAHS as a Visiting Medical Officers all applicants must complete the following steps:
1. Complete the GSAHS Medical Officer Application Form - this can be filled in electronically or manually however it must be printed and signed prior to submission2. Provide certified copies of requested documentation/evidence - all required information is identified within the Application Form
3. Ensure that your application form has been signed in all of the required places
4. Send the complete application along with all required supporting documentation by COB Friday 7 August 2009 to:
